Receiving a certificate is standard practice for participants who successfully complete a course. CLANED® allows you to create and upload your own unique certificates and partially automates their creation and distribution to course participants. No more manual sending emails of emails!
To begin using certificates in your course, follow the steps below!
0. Ensure that you have progress tracking and grading settings enabled for the board
Click the "Enable progress tracking on this board" option in the "Edit board" menu. Then, make sure you configure grading settings for the board. Instructions can be found here.
1. Open your board and click on the Track tab
2. Click on the three dots on the right-hand side of the page
3. Click on Grading settings and set it up, if you haven't already
Grading settings must be defined before you can begin using certificates. More detailed info on grading settings can be found here:
4. Once grading settings are defined, open the menu again and click on "Certificate settings"
5. Check "Provide course certificates"
6. Certificate templates
The section below describes how certificate templates work. Certificates are generated from a template document that you upload. Placeholders (such as LEARNERNAME) in the document are automatically replaced by learner and board information. Please make sure your certificate template has all of the necessary placeholders you wish to include in the certificates:
-
LEARNERNAME - the learner's name
-
PASSDATE - when the certificate was earned
-
BOARDNAME - the name of the board
-
BOARDGRADE - the learner's board grade
7. Uploading certificate templates
You can either choose to use the default template provided by Claned, or upload your own. Please make sure your template file is in Word (.docx) format.
8. Following up on course completions
Please note: You will need to check the Track tab from time to time to see which learners have completed your course and earned a certificate. By clicking on "Send certificates", you'll send a copy of the learner's certificate to their email and make it visible in the Certificates section of their user profile.
