With Claned you can create assessments for different purposes. This quick guide will cover the basics of assessment creation.
1. Click on Add content
2. Choose Assessment
3. Type a name and description for your assessment.
You can include for example type of test or topic to the name. The name is a mandatory field.
6. Click on Add new question to add questions.

7. Type your question.
- Below, you can add annotation for your question. This can include a larger chunk of text like a set of instructions. This is also visible to learners in addition to the question.
8. Choose answer type from the drop down menu
We currently support 5 different question types.

Text Answer: For open-ended questions like essays or short answers. Must be graded manually.

Multiple Choice - One Selection: Choose one correct answer from a set. Fully auto-graded. Each option must be unique.

Multiple Choice - Multiple Selection: Choose multiple correct answers. Points are divided among correct options, so adjust points accordingly. Fully auto-graded. Each option must be unique.

True-False: Create a statement and mark it as True or False.

Attach File Answer: Upload a file as an answer. Any format is allowed. Must be graded manually.
9. Check the settings
- Choose the answer type
- Choose points available
- You can attach images if you want to ask questions about an image
- You can attach videos if you want to ask a question from a video
- Add an explanation that will be visible for the learners after they have answered.
10. Mark the correct answer option(s)
Mark the correct answer option according to your question type with ticking "Correct" button.
11. Click on Add new question and repeat!
12. Delete, move and edit your questions
- Drag your question to another position from the arrows
- Open and edit your question from the arrow pointing down
- Delete questions from "x"
13. After you have created your question, go to assessment settings
14. Adjust settings
Note that you can edit settings later and you do not need to use all settings.
- Set a deadline - By when does the assessment need to be completed.
- N attempts allowed - Define how many times a learner can answer the assessment
- Set a time limit per attempt
- Shuffle question order - Questions will appear randomly
- Show correct answers after each question - Wll show the correct answer with the explanation after the learner has answered the question.
- Show correct answers at the end of the assessment - Will show correct answers with explanation and how learner answered.
- Scoring - How many points are needed to pass.
- Show the score at the end of the assessment - will show how many points learner received.
