The Board States feature helps you manage your boards efficiently by categorizing them into three distinct states: Design, Active, and Archived. These states allow for a structured workflow, ensuring that your boards remain organized and easy to navigate.
You will find your board state next to the board sharing section in the Edit board view.
1. Design State
When you first create a board, it starts in the Design state. This mode provides additional support and guidance to help you structure your board effectively.
Features of Design State:
- Access to board creation steps, offering guidance while setting up your board.
- Ability to edit and refine your board layout and content before making it live.
- Once you're satisfied with the setup, you can switch the board to Active, which removes the creation steps and finalizes the board for use.
2. Active State
After completing the design phase, you can move the board to the Active state.
Features of Active State:
- The board is fully functional and accessible for learners or team members.
- The board creation steps disappear, ensuring a clean and distraction-free interface.
- You can continue managing content and interactions as needed.
You may be warned if you have not completed all the items in the board creation steps, but you can still publish the course.
3. Archived State
Over time, some boards may no longer be in use but are still valuable for reference. Moving a board to the Archived state keeps your active boards list clean.
Features of Archived State:
- The board moves from the "My Boards" tab to the "Archived" tab, reducing clutter.
- You can still access the board when needed, but it remains separate from active projects.
Managing Your Board States
- You can change a board’s state in Edit board at any time based on its relevance and usage.
- Archiving a board does not delete it—you can always restore it if needed.
